Adidas’ answer to the Hyperdunk, this shoe was originally worn by John Wall before he left Adidas for Nike. Since then, it has become a favorite of Andrew Wiggins, among others. The shoe design was leaked ahead of its official release date, prompting much criticism around the Internet for its unusual design. Adidas Basketball’s design director, Jesse Rademacher, defended the shoe, saying it “… completely changed the conversation. It made people notice that we were doing something different whether they liked it or not.” The shoe was replaced by the Crazy Explosive 2017 for the 2017-18 season before the line was discontinued. Most people consider the Adidas Pro Bounce 2018 to be the successor to the Crazy Explosive line.
